Paideia and design: Innovative teaching methods

Abstract

DEED magazine is inspired by Roland Barthes' concept of 'paideia'. This emphasizes learning as a continuous and evolving process. It is an approach that values flexibility, adaptability, and creativity - qualities essential in the design field. The first issue of DEED results from an international symposium held in May 2024 at the Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts de Tunis (ISBAT), which is celebrating its centenary. This issue explores various topics related to design education, offering historical, pedagogical, and technological perspectives.
