About the Journal

Description of DEED the Journal

DEED – Designer l'Enseignement, Enseigner le Design is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to exploring the relationships between design, pedagogy, higher education, educational innovation, and the transformation of learning practices.

The journal serves as a space for reflection, research, and debate dedicated to the design of education and the teaching of design. It explores how design approaches, methods, and cultures can contribute to rethinking pedagogical frameworks, learning environments, knowledge transmission processes, and various forms of educational experimentation.

For DEED, designing education does not simply mean improving existing pedagogical practices. Rather, it involves viewing education as a field of design in its own right, where learning situations can be questioned, imagined, prototyped, assessed, and continuously reinvented in response to contemporary challenges.

The journal welcomes theoretical, methodological, empirical, and experimental contributions addressing topics including:

  • Instructional design;
  • Project-based pedagogies;
  • Educational innovation;
  • Learning environments;
  • Educational technologies;
  • Artificial intelligence and education;
  • Sociotechnical, cultural, and environmental transitions;
  • Action research;
  • Project-led research;
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to design education and higher education.
